Dr. Lori Bruhwiler, Physical Scientist, NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory


Since 1997 Lori Bruhwiler has been a member of the Carbon Cycle and Greenhouse Gasses Group at NOAA/ESRL where she specializes in understanding the budget and evolution of atmospheric methane. Prior to that she worked at NOAA's Geophysical Dynamics Laboratory in Princeton, NJ where she worked on simulating atmospheric chemistry in a general circulation model. She also taught atmospheric chemistry at Princeton. Lori received her PhD from the University of Colorado's Astrophysical, Planetary and Atmospheric Sciences Department in 1991. Her thesis was on the role of atmospheric and aerosol scattering on ground-based zenith sky measurements, and was supervised by Dr. Susan Solomon of the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory (NOAA/ESRL) in Boulder. Lori lives in Boulder with her husband, son and daughter, two cats and horse.
