Dick Crysdale, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, retired
Dick Crysdale worked for the Bureau of Reclamation for over 30 years before retiring. He received a degree in Geography from Carroll College in Wisconsin in 1961, then earned his Masters in Outdoor Recreation at Utah State University. Dick spent most of his career working with water issues and related occupations, including being the Environmental Specialist for the Lower Missouri Region, Asst. Director of the Recreation Management Institute at Texas A&M, Senior Outdoor Recreation Planner, and Seasonal Park Ranger, Yellowstone Lake; as well as projects such as “Recreation Carrying Capacity of Water Resources” and “An Analysis of Lake Zoning Factors, Objectives and Problems on Yellowstone Lake.” But his passion became saving the cutthroat trout in Yellowstone Lake from the lake trout, which are an exotic species to the lake, and predatory toward the cutthroat. And he has written a book on it.
