Explore environmental careers with professionals who share their experiences in a low key setting.

Karl G. Linden, Ph.D., is Professor of Environmental Engineering and Liebman Faculty Fellow at CU--Boulder, previously on the faculty at Duke University. Dr. Linden received a B.S. from Cornell University and M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California at Davis. Dr. Linden’s research has focused on efficacy of alternative technologies in water treatment and water reuse such as UV irradiation for inactivation of microbial pathogens, and the use of advanced oxidation for the degradation of environmental pollutants. His current research is funded by the American Water Works Association Research Foundation (AWWARF), the WateReuse Foundation (WRF), the USDA, the NIEHS, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He has guided over $5M in externally funded research and authored over 75 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Linden is an associate editor of ASCE Journal of Environmental Engineering and a founding board member and International Vice President of the International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA). He also consults for many of the major environmental engineering consulting firms, water and wastewater utilities, and has served as expert witness on a number of legal cases involving water treatment.
