ICE Talk

Dr. Jeffry Mitton, Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology


Jeffry Mitton is Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Chair of the EEBIO department at University of Colorado–Boulder. He has been at CU since 1974 after earning degrees in Connecticut and New York. Dr. Mitton is a geneticist studying patterns of genetic variation and processes that produce evolutionary change in natural populations. His current research subjects include marine mussels, pine trees, cutthroat trout, and endurance athletes. He has published two books and approximately 150 papers and book chapters, and writes a weekly column for the Boulder Daily Camera on topics in science. Jeff’s hobbies include scuba diving, camping, bicycling, photography, skiing, and riding a motorcycle.
