Bioneers is Back! The 20th annual Bioneers Conference, the 7th in Colorado, is taking place October 16-18 at the CU Boulder campus. The event, which dubs itself as "revolutions from the heart of nature" brings together scientists, activists, speakers writers, religious leaders and politicians to connect the dots between environment, health, social justice and spirit.
The Colorado conference features a live satellite feed of the main Bioneers plenaries, and is locally enriched with sessions and workshops on regional issues.
Plenary speakers include, Michael Pollan author of The Omnivore's Dilemma, Jerome Ringo, the President of the Apollo Alliance, Annie Leonard, director of The Story of Stuff, Doctor Andrew Weil, Buddhist teacher Joanna Macy and a host of other inspiring people.
There is also a lot of action here in Boulder. Woody Tasch, founder of the Slow Money Alliance, will give a keynote speech Friday night about building networks and investing in the earth. There will also be speakers, events, sessions and workshops addressing topics of regional importance, such as: Mycology, Carbon Neutrality, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, Social and Community Media and Green Job , a marketplace with socially conscious goods and services and performances, including slam poetry from SLAM NUBA!
Bioneers is free for all CU students, thanks to support from the Environmental Center. There are also reduced rates for students, seniors, educators and activists
