Rebecca E. Morss is a Scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado, with a joint appointment in the Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology Division (MMM) and the Institute for the Study of Society and Environment (ISSE) (formerly the Environmental and Societal Impacts Group).

Her areas of interest include: - The interface between scientific information and decision making - Communication of weather- and climate-related uncertainty - Atmospheric predictability and sources of uncertainty in weather forecasts - Observing network design for improved weather and El Nino prediction - Integrated hydrometeorological/societal perspectives on flood risk - Communication and use of hurricane and flood forecasts - Development and evaluation of interdisciplinary research and educational programs

She has also contributed to the initiation and development of the Collaborative Program on the Societal Impacts and Economic Benefits of Weather Information, the Weather and Society * Integrated Studies program, and the socioeconomic research and applications component of the World Meteorological Organization's THORPEX program at the international, North American, and U.S. levels.
