More Info

Charlie completed CU’s dual MBA/MS environmental studies program with a focus on renewable energy technologies and markets. He has a particular interest in understanding the various market barriers (technical, economic, political and behavioral) to the adoption of small-scale, distributed power generation technologies. His studies combined a business focus on entrepreneurship and finance with diverse coursework in energy technology, policy and economics. He received a BS in advertising from the University of Texas in 2001 with a minor in photojournalism. His professional career thus far has centered on strategic marketing in the environmental and sustainability realms, most recently in a business development role for an environmental engineering firm focused on water and wastewater treatment. Since joining the program, he’s also held consulting roles with the University’s Energy Initiative and SunDrop Fuels, a solar thermal biomass gasification startup based in Boulder.
