I'm now working in renewable energy venture capital for Google.org. Google.org is a hybrid philanthropy that uses a range of approaches to address some of the world's most urgent problems, including the development of clean energy. Google.org operates in a traditional manner by supporting our partners' work with targeted grants, but also invests in for-profit endeavors, such as efforts by companies to develop breakthrough renewable energy technologies. The structure allows Google.org to lobby for policies that support both the company's philanthropic and investment goals.

Prior to my move to San Francisco to work for Google, I was a consulting associate in the Chemicals and Petroleum practice. I worked with some of the largest oil companies in the world to help develop their nationalenergy policy, investigate multi-billion dollar alternative energy investments and understand the political landscape surrounding carbon emissions.
