Over the course of earning his master's, Eric Gordon researched various aspects of the mountain pine beetle epidemic, including community responses. This research has convinced him to stay here with the ENVS program and start a PhD in the fall. His future research will focus on using policy responses to existing ecological vulnerabilities like the mountain pine beetle epidemic to help inform models of climate adaptation.

A native of New Jersey, Eric studied communication as an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania. He arrived at the CU ENVS program after spending six years as a legislative aide in the U.S. House of Representatives working largely on energy and environmental issues. He has studied both energy policy and natural resource policy and is currently researching local community responses to the mountain pine beetle epidemic. While not pursuing his studies, Eric enjoys all of the standard Boulder activities--hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and generally spending time outdoors.
