More Info

Michael is interested in a wide range of environmental and legal issues, including deforestation, wilderness preservation, and climate change. However, his focus is on energy issues as he believes reforming energy systems and transitioning towards smart renewable energy systems is the best way, in the short term, to address a number of environmental problems. It also buys our society time to implement larger reforms in the way it relates to the land and other species. Michael is particularly interested in smart grids, so-called smart biofuels like algae-derived biodiesel, and utility-scale renewable systems like concentrated solar power. His legal interests include property and contracts law, utility law, and toxics regulation. He wants to be a lawyer when he grows up, or possibly an environmental consultant.
