More Info
Ricardo is pursuing a MS in Environmental Studies with a focus in philosophy. His major interests are the intersection of philosophy and theology in environmental thinking, and he plans to deepen the importance of truth in environmental debates following the thought of Jurgen Habermas and Cardinal Ratzinger, and apply this intellectual approach to concrete environmental projects such as climate change adaptation and sustainable development in poor countries.
Born and raised in Brazil, Ricardo founded the environmental non-profit Creatio in Peru where he lived for four years while undergoing his religious formation to become a consecrated member of a Catholic religious order. He has wide experience with volunteer and mission work in the shanty towns and remote highlands of Latin America and has directed several mission trips offering spiritual, humanitarian and environmental assistance to the poorest of the poor.
