Susie will be working as Boulder County's Sustainability Education Specialist and will continue to instruct sustainability courses at the University of Colorado next semester.

Susie received her M.S. from the University of Colorado in 2004, funded by the National Science Foundation’s GK12 fellowship. As an undergraduate, she studied Environmental Studies and International Studies with a focus on Latin America at Middlebury College. In addition, she was previously a middle and upper school natural science teacher for four years and an environmental educator for over 10 years.

Her teaching and research interests include: environmental education and sustainability education, environmental inequality, environmental justice, human dimensions of climate change, environmental perceptions and attitudes. She enjoys teaching students of all ages and her passion for environmental studies is continually sparked through connecting herself and others to the natural environment. She is a zealous naturalist, hiker, and backcountry skier.
