Environmental studies undergraduate internships provide students with opportunities to gain experience and contribute to Host Organization projects and goals. Interns are required to work 40 hours for each credit hour, up to 3 credits, or 120 hours of work. This normally means working 8 hours per week in the 15-week Fall or Spring semester, or 12 hours per week during the 10-week summer semester. However, other schedules are permitted when they do not exceed the maximum number of hours. Students receive college credit for the Internship.

The program’s success depends on your willingness to supervise and direct your intern in the following ways:

  1. Have a specific skill-position or project in mind.
  2. Work with the student to establish concrete goals and objectives.
  3. Be willing to meet with your student to ensure they understand your expectations.
  4. Be willing to meet with your student to discuss their progress on a weekly basis.

If you would like to host an intern, please complete the Internship Opportunity Form, and submit it to the Environmental Studies program at the e-mail address or fax number on the form.

Complete an Internship Agreement Form with your intern at the beginning of the internship.
